| Friends I would like to share a wonderful talk given by Swamiji who was visiting London for the first time. It was a talk for an hour but time flew by so quick that the one-hour seemed to be just a few minutes. I came back feeling very enriched and have not stopped reflecting on this wonderful talk and thought of sharing my notes that I managed to make during this time The theme behind this talk was about MOVING IN WITHIN OURSELVES. He stated that we are continuously moving into and out of things, into relationships and out of relationships. We are constantly accepting things or rejecting them or reacting, and this is throughout in our life, because we are part of this body. Nothing can give us ever lasting joy or peace. We move in with lots of expectations and than when we do not get the object, there is disillusionment and than frustration than sadness and than sorrow ness and disappointment. This is known as THE STATE OF IMBALANCE, and than we cannot maintain proper relationships with anything So the question here arises as to how to create that balance in our mind? The 3 major areas are: at the body level, the mental level and at the intellectual level. At the body level it is known as NIRVEDA i.e. indifference to the senses but not running away from them. At the mental level it is known as SAMATHWA i.e. that which does not change due to the contrary. At the intellectual level it is known as YUKTI i.e. reasoning out logically and than discovering Until we find this balance, we will never be able to experience that peace or joy, which is inside us and not outside us in true experience. We must carry on to trace the source inside us, because all that is outside is PANCHMAHABHOOTA. We can roll the whole universe under our armpit and yet we will never be happy. The way to imbalance is identifying with external objects With Nirveda i.e. having the attitude of being indifferent in us, and than we go taste the objects of the world, we will have no problems what so ever. We must constantly be aware of the ISHWAR TATVA all the time Moving in, moving out, constantly that is all we are doing. Our inner imbalance clearly gets reflected in our outer relationships Those people who are near and dear to us are our mirrors, so we must keep looking into these mirrors to correct ourselves. Every experience is a mirror itself Impressions are SAMSKARAS and habits are VASANAS. We must deal with these things internally and a few externally. We get pushed and pulled, so where is the balance Cleaning the inner self is the only way to balance. When the good habits become stronger and stronger, than you will know you are on the right path of cleansing To get tempted is not wrong, but to loose balance and than to chase those tempting things is wrong. With continuous effort, we must cleanse our inner self, all the samskaras and vasna's. If we remain involved continuously in this cleansing, then we will get strength. Start the journey of cleansing internally and then the external will take care of itself. Be careful as self-cancellation of thought may arise i.e. the thought with which we have decided to do our sadhana is not strong enough, than a cancellation of thought Follow the instructions, then strengthen the inner self and later transcendent The whole world is only experienced in the form of thoughts! Reject and renounce the outer vritti. in the inner mind. Vrut means to exist, vriti means the way in
which thought exists. Counter the thought, take out the thought and go on analysing
yourself, than strengthen yourself Then, when we have to face the world we will do so |
